As I was going through a nightly ritual that Tiffany and/or I participate in with Keith:
1. Read book(s)
2. Say prayers
3. Lay down for a little while
I had a humorous realization. I know the names of many more stuffed animals then I would have thought one in their early 30’s might. The thought occurred to me as I was looking at Buddy. He (see, I’m referring a toy as “he”) is a stuffed beagle that Keith has had for a couple of years.
As the boy nodded off, I had to smile when I thought about many a conversation we’ve had with him about the dog. I’m pretty sure I’ve even given Buddy a good-night kiss or two. It is cute when the little folks think of them as real animals – easier to clean up after too! 
In no way am I complaining. They just forget to remind you about your deep relationships with stuffed bears, puppies, bunnies and such when you go through parenting 101. Thought I’d share. Besides, they aren’t nearly as tough to keep up with at the imaginary friends, but that, I’m afraid, is a completely different story.

Reminds me of Kenny Loggins “Return to Pooh Corner.”
It cracks me up that Patrick managed to destroy his first Buzz Lightyear in less than a year. He’s missing 2 legs and the fingers on his left hand, but Patrick loves him all the same. Beautiful example of their innocence and unconditional love. (Unless of course he doesn’t get Teddy Grahams and Toy Story 2 in the DVD player at his beck-and-call.)
